Red mite powder is a diatom powder which acts against mites and lice, fleas and especially red mite. 

The powder is left in the nesting box and in the gap between the perch and side of the shed.

The mites crawl onto it and the powder which is a grit like substance then dissolves the mites and other insects.

 The powder is sold loose, in a plastic bag, no packing to pay for so you get more for your money.

We use an empty plastic drinks bottle, put a few holes in the lid and use it like a pepper shaker to sprinkle it around.
